He oversees all facets of recruiting, training, and education for about 50 Air Force Officer Candidates per year. Lt Col Howe commissioned from the United States Air Force Officer Training School in 2009 as a graduate of the University of Colorado. He was winged as a Combat Systems Officer at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas and then was assigned to fly the RC-135V/W/U/S. He has served in a variety of positions to include Squadron Tactics Officer, Flight Commander, Group Executive Officer, Wing Executive Officer, Director of Operations, Joint Staff Global Force Management Action Officer, and Combatant Command Planner.
Lt Col Howe is a senior Combat Systems Officer with more than 1,900 flying hours, with more than 70 combat missions, and over 750 combat hours in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Lt Col Howe has flown over 30 Sensitive Reconnaissance Operations sorties around the world.
