Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology
Marie Humes (she/her/hers) M.A., LPC, SAC-IT is the Clinical Training Coordinator in the Department of Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology (CECP). Marie’s career began working with children with neurodiversity, then transitioned to community mental health as an outpatient provider. She most recently held the role of Counselor and Coordinator for Black/African American Student Services for the Marquette University Counseling Center. For several years, Marie also worked as the Director of Field Experience at Cardinal Stritch University assisting education students navigate the path of becoming certified classroom teachers.
Marie brings a great wealth of knowledge from both the clinical side of counseling as she continues to work in private practice; as well as the administrative side of navigating the certification process. In Marie’s free time, she enjoys traveling, rock climbing, and trying her hands at a DYI project.
