Hot Days/Hot Nights

In celebration of summer, Hot Days/Hot Nights features 40 photographs from the Haggerty Museum of Art’s collection that directly capture, or are evocative of, the warmer months. Encompassing a broad range of periods and styles, the selected works highlight the many moods and activities of summer, as well as the impact of place and socioeconomic circumstance on the experience of the season. Joining longstanding collection favorites are recent gifts from the last five years, many of which will be on view at the Museum for the first time.

The exhibition brings together work by Diane Arbus, Tom Arndt, Mark Brautigam, Michael Childers, Kelli Connell, Joe Deal, Jim Dow, George Krause, Jocelyn Lee, Danny Lyon, Joel Meyerowitz, Graham Miller, Kevin, J. Miyazaki, Barbara Morgan, Frank Paulin, Walter Rosenblum, Robert von Sternberg, Weegee (Arthur Fellig), and Garry Winogrand.

Hot Days/Hot Nights is curated by Amanda Brown, Collections Manager and Registrar.
