B-5.3 Alumni Authors Collection

Abstract:  This record group brings together, in one location, publications by Marquette University alumni. The collection contains items in both print and electronic formats, and consists of not only books, but also articles, pamphlets, digests, abstracts, and book reviews.

The Department of Archival Collections and Institutional Repository maintains items added to the Alumni Authors Collection as “archival copies” for future generations. They do not circulate outside the department; circulating copies of books are located in the Raynor Library's general collection. Articles, scholarly papers, and shorter publications are cataloged collectively in MarqCat under the name of each author.

The University Archives encourages alumni to donate copies of recently published articles, papers, and reviews for addition to its "Alumni Authors" Collection. Notify the Archives of your recent book publications so that we may consider purchasing a copy for the Alumni Authors Collection.

Scope and Content:  This collection is arranged into two series. Series 1 consists of shorter works such as articles, pamphlets, digests, and book reviews. This material is arranged by the author's last name. Series 2 consists of books. No inventory is available for this series, but this material is cataloged in MarqCat under the author's last name.

Note that alumni personal papers are organized separately.

Restrictions:  Access to these records is unrestricted. However, the researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of libel, privacy, and copyright which may be involved in the use of these records. Consult an archivist for further information.
