DACA/Dreamers

Marquette University is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for students of all backgrounds. We aim to maintain a campus environment that is diverse, equitable and free from discrimination.

The Office of International Education's recommendation for recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program is to consult with a legal advisor before making a decision to study abroad.

Although the Office of International Education is not able to provide legal advice or guidance on DACA policy changes, nor advice for U.S. or international travel taken by undocumented students or students with DACA status, there are resources through the Diversity and Inclusion website for undocumented students. An immigration lawyer can go through your situation and help you weigh the risk involved in study abroad.

If you are unsure of where to start, connect with Jacqueline Black, Director for Hispanic Initiatives and Diversity and Inclusion Educational Programming in the Office of Inclusion and Belonging.
