Deirdre A. Dempsey (Ph.D., The Catholic University of America, 1989), [Biblical], received both the MA and the PhD from the Department of Egyptian and Semitic Languages and Literatures, at The Catholic University of America. Her work is primarily in translation: recently she completed a five-year project, a revision (on a committee of four) of the OT section of the New American Bible Revised Edition — this revision will be included in the upcoming new version of the Lectionary. Her upcoming publications: an article on the changes between the NABRE and this new revision; a publication, in Fordham Press's Christian Arabic Texts in Translation Series, of a translation of Ibn at-Tayyib's 11th century Commentary on Genesis.
