Major: Biomedical Engineering - Biomechanics

Hometown: Park Ridge, IL

Favorite Courses: Biomaterials Science and Engineering, Transport Phenomena, Clinical and Regulatory Issues in Biomedical Engineering, Introduction to Gothic Fiction

Organizations and Activities: Marquette Radio, Society of Women Engineers, Biomedical Engineering Society, Honors Program

Industry and research experience: I have done two summer internships with GE Healthcare. My first was as a Manufacturing Engineer as a part of their Operations Management Leadership Program, and my second in the Edison Engineering Development Program for Hardware. As an undergraduate research student, I work with the Go Baby! Go program, which is a part of the Orthopaedic & Rehabilitation Engineering Center. We make custom adaptations to ride-on toy cars for children with differing abilities, in order to give them access to mobility in a safe and fun way! We also adapt toys to include adaptive switches to increase their accessibility. We give all of these devices away at no cost to the family or clinic.

Why I chose Marquette: I chose Marquette for it's Biomechanics program, the balance of a tight-knit engineering community with a larger campus and city, opportunities during and after college, scholarships, and location!

About Me: My overall mission is to enjoy life and to help others enjoy theirs. Marquette Engineering has been instrumental in helping me pursue this. I have learned so much, strengthening a wide array of skills: technical, social, personal, and professional. Some of my hobbies include music, crafts, thrifting and exploring Milwaukee. The longer I stay here, the more cool things I find! I love to express myself and feel like my individuality has been treasured in my time here.
