Dorothy Day-Catholic Worker Collection
Peter King Papers, 2016-2022

Biographical History

Peter King joined the Unity Kitchen Catholic Worker community in the early 1970's, where he met his wife, Ann O'Connor. The couple took over the majority of day-to-day operations within a few years of joining the community. King maintained an interest throughout his life in becoming an ordained Catholic priest, and following the death of his wife in 2015, focused more on theological writings and communication. King and the community at large decided to close the Catholic Worker house in 2021.

Scope & Content

This collection is largely comprised of King's theological work and related correspondence, which he worked on more frequently following the death of his wife, Ann O' Connor, in 2015.

Because of the nature of the collection, when researching Peter King's correspondence, one should also refer to labeled folders 3 and 4 of box 2, which contain additional correspondence related to Unity Kitchen's newsletter, The Unity Grapevine

A separate collection exists for Unity Kitchen under series number W-47.
