Mathew H. Ahmann (b. 1931, d. 2001) was a political activist known for his life-long involvement in the civil rights movement. He is most well known for his work with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., including participating in the organization of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, and his role as founder and executive director of the National Catholic Conference for Interracial Justice (NCCIJ). Following his resignation from the NCCIJ, Ahmann worked for several other civil rights and Catholic initiatives.
