What is the Community Impact Showcase?

The Community Impact Showcase is designed to showcase the work of Marquette’s community-engaged undergraduate and graduate students from select campus programs.  Audience members are invited to view student posters that represent their knowledge about or impact within the Milwaukee community and/or their own leadership growth. The event is meant to stimulate conversation and increase the audience's awareness of and knowledge about social justice issues happening in our community. In addition, Public Service graduate students will present draft versions of their Professional Projects and engage in a Think Tank–style feedback process.

What Student Groups Participate?

Students from the below campus programs will be invited to participate in the 2026 Showcase.

Arrupe Center Social Responsibility Micro Grant Awardees

    Burke Scholars

   CURTO Scholars

   Public Service Grad Students

   Service Learners

   Trinity Fellows

Urban Scholars

What Will Be Presented?

Though completed academic and research-based topics are welcome, students are also encouraged to share information via creative storytelling and/or to discuss incomplete projects they wish to receive feedback from the audience. You are more than welcome to reuse or repurpose a project or topic you’ve already presented in a past class or professional experience.

Benefits to Participating

  • Many members of the community will be in attendance, providing ample opportunity for networking and to receive thoughtful feedback on your project and growth.
  • Showcasing the work you do in the community instills a sense of curiosity, pride and partnership amongst our stakeholders.
  • Showing support to your peers is a wonderful way to contribute to our engaged scholars' communities.
  • Highlighting the work you and/or your community partners do increases awareness of social and economic justice issues others may not yet know about.
  • Like the Examen, this activity is a reflective tool. It is meant to build self-awareness and confidence in how you talk about your leadership journey and will provide you with an opportunity to consider how you are applying your learning to action.
