James holds a Masters of Information in Data Science (MIDS) from UC Berkeley and a Masters of Science in Applied Economics from Marquette University.  James currently works in the industry as a Senior Software Engineer at NVIDIA.  He has contributed to many open source data science and data engineering projects, most notably as a maintainer of the 'LightGBM' project from Microsoft Research.
