My previous 25 years as a healthcare leader and administrator laid the foundation for my teaching leadership and ethics in the classroom, where I hope to instill in students a passion for making the world a better place by leading ethically and competently in the organizations where they work and in the communities they serve.
Fall, 2025: Character-Driven Leadership, LEDR 6115; Concepts of Ethical Business Practice, MBA 6120 (two sections); Leading People and Change, MBA 6140. Spring, 2026: Contemporary Leadership, LEDR 6051; Concepts of Ethical Practice, MBA 6120 (3 sections)
My Research interests are in the areas of contemporary leadership, business ethics, major change, social networks, and teaching and learning in higher education. My passion for research is to study vulnerable groups, enabling them to better flourish in their personal lives, communities, and employment opportunities, and this is reflected in the research I do. My past studies have focused on employee challenges and opportunities during major organizational change, student athletes who struggle with balancing their role as both student and athlete, exploring how business and community might effectively work together to reduce social problems such as teen pregnancy, and researching how single-mother households might better flourish in their personal lives as well as in the community and their employment opportunities.
Leadership, ethics and organizational change.
