Fall Leadership Opportunities

Help foster the development of a small Christian community, Bible Study, or group on campus where faith and life is shared and integrated. This academic year long commitment involves co-leading a weekly one hour small group, consisting of 8-10 students, and meeting bi-weekly with a campus minister for training and formation. Applications will be accepted through Monday, April 28.

Journey with fellow students as they discern becoming Catholic or completing the sacramental initiation process through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA). Christian Initiation Team Members make an academic year long commitment to offer support as part of a collaborative team, particularly by helping facilitate weekly formation sessions on Thursday nights from 6-7:30 p.m. Applications to be part of the Christian Initiation Team will be accepted through Friday, May 2.

Ignite is a weekly large group grounded in community that encourages living a faith that does justice. Students may apply to serve in the following roles: student co-director, “The Night” planning team, and communications' team. Leaders make an academic year long commitment to collaboratively contribute to our Wednesday night program (7-8 p.m.) as well as leadership training and formation. Applications are now being accepted for the position of piano accompanist for the Marquette University Liturgical Choir. A $4,000 stipend will be awarded to a Marquette undergraduate or graduate student exhibiting strong piano and improvisational skills, sight-reading ability and a proficient level of choral score reading ability. The position may be renewed on a yearly basis.

Choir Council Officers meet weekly to assist the director with recruitment, hospitality, retreat planning, concert planning and publicity and regular maintenance of the choir. Officers are actively involved in the Fall Campus Ministry Leadership Retreat (Sept 5-6, 2025) and in other collaborations with student Campus Ministry Leaders as needed throughout the year. Council members are selected from existing choir membership each spring semester for the following academic year.

Are you interested in helping at Sunday, daily, and special masses as a Reader/Lector, Altar Server/Acolyte, Communion Minister, or Usher/Hospitality Minister? Whether you helped at your home parish or high school, or if you’ve never helped at mass before, you can register to help at Marquette! Serving as a Lector, Acolyte, or Communion Minister requires a student be a baptized and confirmed Catholic. Students can register to serve in any or all of these capacities by following this link.

Become a facilitator for justice! Join M.A.P. and become a small group Facilitator for our in-person spring break 2026 (March 8-14, 2026). No previous M.A.P. experience required for this year! Applications open September 2, 2025, and close Tuesday, October 1, 2025. Training for M.A.P. Facilitators will be held once a month for 1.5 hours. Dates TBD. M.A.P. does not happen without you, so consider becoming a M.A.P. Facilitator in your leadership plan for next year!

Midnight Run is a student service and advocacy group which seeks to address food and housing insecurity in Milwaukee. If you are a Midnight Run volunteer or have significant experience volunteering at partner sites like ours, we welcome your application to be a site coordinator.  If you are already serving as a site coordinator, please consider applying to be one of four Co- Coordinating Team members (”Co-co”). You may ask your site coordinator or a current “Co-Co” to send you the link for the application. The Midnight Run site coordinators meet each Monday at 7 p.m., lead a team of student volunteers who are dedicated to weekly service at a Midnight Run partner site, and facilitate reflection among group members. Co-co’s facilitate overall organization of Midnight Run for forming volunteer teams, logistics, large scale reflection, fundraising, and advocacy. 

Student music teams provide music at the Tuesday and Thursday 10 p.m. Masses, as well as our Sunday Masses (9:30 a.m., 6:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m.). Students who are interested in joining any of these teams as singers or instrumentalists can reach out to Andrew Mountin at any time. 

Additionally, leaders at each of these Masses may be asked to join the Music Ministry Core Team, who meet regularly to plan, discuss how music at Masses is going, and to learn more about liturgical music. Students interested in being part of the Music Ministry Team should reach out to Andrew.

Have you participated in a Campus Ministry retreat? Continue and enrich that experience by accompanying fellow students along their faith journeys as a retreat leader next year! Retreat leaders work with their team to develop activities, talks, and plans for their retreat. No prior retreat experience needed. Application deadline for the first wave is Monday, April 7.
