Research Interests

  • Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering & Regenerative Medicine. Fabrication, characterization, and biocompatibility assessment of scaffolds and biomaterials for soft and hard tissue repair in restorative and regenerative dental applications.
  • Biological in vitro models. Use of different oral cell lines to explore interactions, cytotoxicity and biocompatibility with biomaterials, dental materials, and scaffolds.
  • Oral Microbiology & Antimicrobial Testing. Evaluation of antimicrobial properties of biomaterials, scaffolds, dental materials, and dental products.
  • Photobiomodulation - Investigation of light-based therapies for tissue repair and antimicrobial effects in vitro, and their future potential applications in oral disease management and dental treatments.
  • Dental curing lights. Assessment of the possible biological impacts of curing lights on oral cells, including cytotoxicity, thermal effects, and oxidative stress.
