Campus Libraries' New Library System
July 2024—Marquette’s Raynor Library and Eckstein Law Library are debuting a new, next-generation library system that provides a more intuitive, integrated, and efficient search-and-browse experience for faculty, students, and staff. The new system will go online July 31.
After July 31, the new system will power the homepage search box for both Raynor Library and the Law Library. Helpful how-tos, FAQs, and tips are available on Raynor Library’s website.
Highlights
- A single, powerful search interface that more smoothly integrates the libraries’ collections and offers expanded search functions.
- Added discovery tools—including citation tracking, virtual shelf browsing, and automatic recommendations—will help uncover an expanded array of useful materials.
- One-step citation export will make using citation management tools easier and even more powerful.
Managing Permalinks and Legacy Data
While the transition to the new system will be seamless for most library patrons, the following service changes may require attention.
- PERMALINKS: Patrons whose course materials (syllabi, etc.) include links to resources in the legacy catalog system may need to update those links to go to the new catalog system. Go to the Advanced Tools section of this page for details.
- BOOK LISTS AND READING HISTORIES: Patrons who wish to retain book lists and reading histories created in the legacy catalog system should follow these steps by September 30, 2024, to export and save that information.
