Planning international travel? The Medical Clinic offers travel health services to help you stay safe and healthy while abroad.

Travel risks vary by destination, activities, and your personal health history. Our team will help you prepare with the right guidance, vaccines, and preventive care.

Care We Provide

Travel Consultations

We offer individualized travel consultations for students, faculty, and staff. During your visit, we will:

  • Review your travel itinerary and health history
  • Recommend vaccines and medications based on your destination
  • Provide guidance to help you stay healthy while traveling

Schedule your appointment at least 6 weeks before departure to allow time for immunizations to be effective.

  • Vaccines & Medications
    Recommendations and administration of vaccines and medications based on your travel plans.
  • Country-Specific Guidance
    Up-to-date information on health risks, travel alerts, and local conditions.
  • Food & Water Safety
    Guidance on safe eating and drinking, plus what to do if you become ill.
  • Insect Bite Prevention
    Tips to prevent insect-borne illnesses and reduce exposure.
  • Pre-Travel & Arrival Tips
    Advice on what to pack, how to stay healthy abroad, and important considerations upon arrival.

Additional Services

  • Travel Forms & Physicals
    If you need a “statement of good health” for a visa or study abroad program, a separate physical exam is required and additional fees will apply. If you’ve recently had a physical with your provider at home, they may be able to complete your form.
  • Group Travel Support
    Marquette-sponsored groups can request presentations on destination-specific health and safety. Call (414) 288-7184 for more information.
  • Post-Travel Care
    If you become ill after returning (fever, diarrhea, or other new symptoms), the Medical Clinic can evaluate and treat you.

Costs

Charges may include:

  • Consultation Fee
    $35 for students who have paid the semester health fee
    $75 for fee for service students.
  • Travel vaccines/medications that are given in the medical clinic.

Payment is due at the time of service. The Medical Clinic does not bill insurance for travel consultations or travel vaccines.
