Pilot Award

The AHPRC research pilot awards began in 2018 and are aimed to build an interdisciplinary team of researchers for collaborative health- and performance-related research. 

2025-26 Pilot Award Winners

“Pain in Athletes Intervention (PAIN) Pilot Study in Aging Former Athletes, Master’s Athletes, and Nonathletes” - Dr. Jacob Capin, assistant professor of physical therapy; Dr. Marie Hoeger Bement, professor of physical therapy; and Dr. Danilo Tolusso, clinical assistant professor of exercise science and co-director of graduate studies in sports and exercise analytics.
“Behavioral Coaching to Increase Engagement in Yoga Among Women Veterans with PTSD” - Dr. Jacklynn Fitzgerald, assistant professor of psychology; and Dr. Rachel Bollaert, clinical associate professor of exercise science; with collaborator Dr. Meghan Bennett from the Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center; and community partner Michelle Marrero from Beyond Yoga, LLC.
