Digital Programs graduate student assistants work alongside library staff to expand and maintain Marquette University’s institutional repository, e-Publications@Marquette. The repository brings together Marquette University scholarly output—dissertations and theses, journal articles, conference proceedings, presentations—to preserve faculty, staff and student scholarship.
Responsibilities
Assist staff with tasks associated with the growth and maintenance of Marquette’s institutional repository
Reformat documents in Word, PDF and other formats
Operate various scanning devices, including Epson flatbed scanner and Indus Bookscanner
Locate faculty publications, both online and in print, within the library catalog, library shelves, other online databases, and through other libraries via Interlibrary Loan
Describe materials for the online repository
Verify document citation information
Create descriptive records
Help develop and implement projects to enhance and improve the repository
Track projects within an Excel spreadsheet
Upload material to the online repository
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
Experience with MS Office including intermediate familiarity with Excel and Adobe Acrobat
Knowledge of basic research techniques (catalog and database searching, citing sources)
