HEAL 1025: Culture and Health
Dr. Moore is a researcher dedicated to the systematic examination of violence within structurally vulnerable and historically marginalized communities. Utilizing qualitative methodologies and critical theoretical frameworks, her research has explored how African American women survivors of intimate partner violence engage with healthcare and law enforcement systems. She examines how structural inequalities and cultural assumptions impact survivor experiences, aiming to improve institutional responses through culturally specific and trauma-informed care. Dr. Moore's research bridges critical theory and practice to advocate for more equitable, survivor-centered systems of support.
