Honors Community

All freshman and sophomore honors students have the opportunity to live together in a Living Learning Community.  Often enrolled in the same classes, these students participate in study groups, attend in-hall programs featuring the faculty they meet in the classroom, and sponsor a variety of out-of class events and activities.

Eligibility

Only Honors students are eligible to live in the Honors LLC. If you intend to live with a roommate who is not in the honors program, you will need to go through the general housing selection process. Similarly, if you drop the honors program at any point in time, you will be required to move to a different community.

Straz Tower

The CommonsStraz Tower is a residence hall on the East side of campus which houses both first and second year students. It is co-ed by door. The building consists of single, double, and quad room-types and has 24/7 Security. The building has private bathrooms in each room. The building features 24/7 security, a dining hall, and Rec Plex fitness facility. Staff in the building include a Residence Hall Director, Hall Minister, Resident Assistants, and a Facilities Manager. Straz Tower is also home to both the Nuestro Hogar and Umoja Living Learning Communities.

The LLC occupies 10 floors in Straz Tower.  Each floor is co-ed and consists of first and second year students. Students living in the LLC will have RAs who are also a part of the Honors program. If you would like to request a specific roommate in the LLC, your roommate request(s) must also be members of the Marquette Honors program.
