Nursing Community

One floor of Carpenter Tower is reserved for 20 incoming nursing students, both male and female, to provide academic and social support for students in the Nursing program. Carpenter Tower is a great environment on the east side of campus - close to dining and recreation facilities, Milwaukee's downtown area, and the new home of Marquette Nursing, David A. Straz, Jr. Hall.

Eligibility

Only Honors students are eligible to live in the Honors LLC. If you intend to live with a roommate who is not in the honors program, you will need to go through the general housing selection process. Similarly, if you drop the honors program at any point in time, you will be required to move to a different community.

Carpenter Tower

Carpenter TowerCarpenter Tower houses approximately 300 freshman and sophomore students in single and double rooms. The building features 24-hour front desk staff, on-site laundry and mail services, and a computer lab with PrintWise.  Additional amenities include study lounges on each floor, private in-room bathrooms, and a basement lounge / game room.

Nursing LLC Academics

Students who live in the LLC will take classes together each semester. All students in the LLC are required to enroll in the same section of Nursing 1001 in the fall semester and Nursing 1002 in the spring semester. Additionally they will find support in the form of RAs in the Nursing program, meals and various programming with faculty, as well as pre-exam study sessions. Faculty report that LLC participants are generally more engaged with their academic program than those not living on the floor.
