We're glad you're here! Our program provides free tutoring services for select freshmen and sophomore level courses. Tutors are typically upperclassmen who have performed well in the course and are passionate about supporting students through these challenging subjects.
Our program provides tutoring in both a small and large group format, dependent on the subject. Here is what you can expect within each format:
| Small Group Tutoring | Large Group Tutoring |
| Reserved for historically challenging courses at Marquette University | Reserved for high-demand courses that are also more challenging |
| Group sessions are 1 hour in length | Sessions are 1 - 1.5 hours in length |
| Group sessions meet weekly, same day/same time | Sessions occur 1 or 2 times a week |
| Students must register for the group they'd like to partake in. Students can only register for (1) group per subject they are enrolled in | Students do not need to register, they can simply attend when needed |
| There is 1 tutor per group | There are 2-3 tutors present per session |
| Up to 7 students can be enrolled in a group | Sessions can have upwards of 60 attendees |
| Attendance is taken each week, students are allowed to miss up to 3 sessions before being removed | Attendance is tracked |

All of our tutors have a 3.0+ GPA and have received a B+ or better in the course they tutor. Tutors work together in subject cohorts led by a Lead Tutor who communicates regularly with both faculty members and staff.
Our sessions are designed to follow the class syllabus and content will be relevant to what was discussed that week in class.
The Marquette University Tutoring Program is certified nationally through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). This ensures that our tutors are trained for 10 hours and we are aligned with best practices.
