College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA)

We are certified.

Our tutoring program is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA), which is a professional organization composed of learning centers at colleges and universities across the nation. Certification sets professional standards of skill and training for tutors and provides recognition and positive reinforcement for tutors’ successful work.

Our CRLA certification reflects not only the quality of our training program, but also the dedication of the student tutors who make our services successful.

All tutors complete a comprehensive training program that includes at least 10 hours of professional development focused on effective tutoring practices, communication, ethics, and student learning. Tutors are also observed throughout the year to ensure they continue to provide high-quality academic support.

Tutors are encouraged to view tutoring as an ongoing opportunity for professional growth. As they gain tutoring experience, complete additional training, participate in observations, and take on leadership opportunities, they can continue to develop their skills and advance within the program.

Our tutors are committed to maintaining the high professional standards established by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). Their dedication to continuous learning, ethical practice, and student success helps create a welcoming, supportive, and effective learning environment for every student we serve.
