Application Details
Undergraduate Students - Application for Graduation
Undergraduate students should apply for graduation in CheckMarq before the end of the advising period in the semester they wish to graduation. Last day to apply to graduate in spring, summer or fall 2025 and have name appear in the commencement program: April 11.
Graduate Students - Application for Graduation
As a graduate student, you are responsible for verifying that you have met all degree requirements by the deadlines in the Graduate Bulletin. If you do not meet the various deadlines, you may not be able to graduate.
When you have met all degree requirements, or know that you will meet them by the deadlines, submit a Graduation Application in your CheckMarq account.
Until all graduation requirements have been met, you must maintain the appropriate registration status (less than half-time or full-time).
Important:
- If you miss the application deadline, your graduation may be delayed and you must re-apply for the next graduation.
- If you omit any requested information, your form will not be processed by the university.
- Apply for graduation through CheckMarq
Cap & Gown Distribution
All graduates must order their academic apparel online at Herff Jones by Saturday, April 5.
There is no charge for academic apparel, and pickup only takes a few minutes of your time. If the candidate cannot pick up his/her own apparel, a friend or a relative may come in his/her place. Information needed to pick up the cap and gown is the candidates name, degree, height and college.
Undergraduates may retain their "keepsake" cap and gown. Graduate School of Management and Graduate School (master's and doctoral degrees) graduates must return caps, gowns, and hoods to the representative of the cap and gown company immediately following the graduation program. (Tassels may be retained as a keepsake.)
Honor Cords
All students who are at a 3.500 overall GPA as of March 26, 2025, and are expected graduates of the College of Business in Fall 2024-Fall 2025 can pick up a Business Honors cord during Finals week in May 2025.
Any student who earns a 3.500 cumulative or higher, after grades are posted in Spring 2025 (or Summer 2025 or Fall 2025) can request to pick up an honor cord after those grades are posted.
