Position Overview
Operations Services (OS) is responsible for equipment, sports courts, multi-activity courts (MAC), Rec Plex court management, and Rec Plex Fitness Center management. Key areas of focus include equipment checkout, Innosoft Fusion equipment inventory management, equipment sanitation, sports courts/MAC storage organization, and sports courts/MAC equipment set up and take down.
Responsibilities Include
- Manages equipment checkout, ensuring all equipment is returned in good condition, sanitized, and stored properly. In the event of damaged equipment, the employee follows protocol for removing equipment from circulation within Innosoft Fusion.
- Provides towels to members that have a towel service.
- Court Attendant (WR) is responsible for monitoring the two MAC Courts and four Tennis Courts at WR, assuring only Varsity members, students, and paying members are using their properly assigned court. Continue to monitor Fusion to ensure all guests have a reservation or booking and are checked in.
- Assists with equipment needs in sports courts, MAC courts, and tennis courts including setting up nets, ensuring they are stored properly, and using the wall-mounted tablet for other court configurations.
- Assist with locker lockouts at WR.
- Fitness Center (RP) ensures the safety of members in the facility by making sure all are following the rules, including no dropping free weights and enforcing the dress code, and replenishes sanitation spray in various locations.
- See that participants and personnel follow all policies, rules, and regulations.
- Verify that security cameras are operational and all images are displayed on computer.
- Assist as needed with the intramural, recreational and non-academic instructions under the direction of the full-time staff to facilitate their efficient operation.
- Be familiar with any facility calendar during a particular shift and be able to properly supervise the group and assist with equipment/facility needs.
- Attend all staff meetings and training as required by the professional staff.
- Understand the Campus Recreation Emergency Action Protocol.
- In the event of a medical emergency, promptly retrieve the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and deliver it to the scene as directed by the Recreation Supervisor or first responder.

Position Overview
The Recreation Supervisor (RS) is responsible for the physical integrity, cleanliness, and safety of the Campus Recreation facilities. This role focuses on high-level operational tasks, including event logistics, facility security (opening/closing), and acting as the primary first responder during medical emergencies. The RS ensures the facility is "game-ready" for all patrons and organized for seamless daily use.
Responsibilities Include
- Ensure the facility is opened and closed at appropriate times following security protocols to protect the building and its assets

Position Overview
The Student Manager position is a student leadership role within Campus Recreation, responsible for high-level administrative oversight and the daily management of facility personnel. This role maintains all responsibilities of the Recreation Supervisor (RS) while also assisting the Associate Director and Coordinators with critical personnel matters, including the recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and training of the Member Services, Operation Services, and Recreation Supervisor teams.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist Coordinators with the interviewing and selection process for new Member Services (MS) and Operation Services (OS) staff
- Lead the onboarding process for new hires to ensure they are seamlessly integrated
- Evaluate and mentor staff for potential promotion into the Recreation Supervisor role
- Facilitate ongoing training sessions for Campus Rec student employees
- Provide direct guidance and mentorship to Recreation Supervisors
- Attend Student Manager Team meetings and assist with Recreation Supervisor meeting agendas and presentations
- Assist the Associate Director and Coordinators in managing schedules across multiple facilities and coordinating shift coverage or emergency substitutions
- Work weekly scheduled office hours to complete administrative tasks and planning
- Perform all duties as listed in the Recreation Supervisor (RS) position description and model excellent performance for student staff
- Administer First Aid/CPR/AED to injured patrons as a main responder
- Adhere strictly to established Campus Recreation emergency protocols
- Perform any other duties as required by Campus Recreation
Time Commitment and Pay
- Students are required to work a minimum of 6 hours per week, with a maximum of 20 hours per week.
- Office hours are determined at the beginning of the semester and can work around academic schedules.
- Starting pay for this role is $13/hour.
Supervision Received
Student Managers report to the Associate Director of Facilities & Operations. General supervision is provided by the Coordinator of Member Services & Marketing and the Coordinator of Facilities & Operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a currently enrolled student in good standing with Marquette University
- Extensive prior experience serving as a Recreation Supervisor (RS)

Customer Service Representative (CSR) Summer Only
Position Overview
Customer Service Representatives contribute to the goals of Campus Recreation and the sense of community on the Marquette University campus. This student position has responsibilities related to the overall daily operations of the assigned recreation facility. This position works closely with the Associate Director, and the Recreation Supervisors, to ensure that all building policies and procedures are followed.
Responsibilities Include
- Customer Service Representatives serve the need of customers in all areas of both recreational facilities on campus – the Wellness + Helfaer Recreation facility (WR) and the Rec Plex (RP)
- Customer Service Representatives provide customer service in the following areas:
- Facility Access – monitors Fusion as members enter the facility assuring all have current memberships
- Equipment Checkout – checks out equipment, assures equipment is checked back in good condition and provides towels to members that have towel service (WR)
- Court Attendant (WR only) – responsible for monitoring the two MAC Courts and four Tennis Courts at the WR, assuring only Varsity members, students, and paying members are using their properly assigned court. Continue to monitor Fusion to assure all guests playing have a reservation and are checked in, also assist with equipment needs in MAC courts and tennis courts
- Fitness Center (RP only) – this team member assures the safety of members in the facility by making sure all are following the rules, including no dropping free weights and enforcing the dress code
- See that participants and personnel are following all policies, rules, and regulations
- Attend all staff meetings and trainings as required by the professional staff
- Answer and handle all questions, problems, and complaints as given by participants and personnel
- Understand Emergency procedures and situations and know what to do at each station
- Perform any other duties as required by Campus Recreation
Time Commitment and Pay
- Students are required to work a minimum of 6 hours per week, with a maximum of 20 hours per week.

- Starting pay for this role is $10/hour.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a currently enrolled student in good standing with Marquette University
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members
- Must demonstrate collaboration and decision-making skills and the ability to assert authority to peers and other patrons of the facility
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
