Memberships

A Campus Recreation Membership provides access to the spaces, programs, and opportunities you need to stay healthy and active on campus. Member options vary based on your affiliation with Marquette University. Explore the specific features and eligibility requirements below to find the perfect fit for you!

General Information

  • Payment Structure: All memberships are monthly recurring. You will be charged month-to-month until you cancel.

  • Initial Payment: Your first payment will be pro-rated to cover the cost from your purchase date until the first day of the next month.

  • Monthly Billing: Payments are automatically charged to your stored credit card on the 1st of each month (or the next business day if the 1st is a weekend or holiday). If you purchase multiple items such as a membership and a locker, these may show as separate payments on your monthly statement.   

  • Required Payment Method: Campus Recreation is cashless. A valid credit card must be securely stored in your online Member Portal for continuous payments.

  • Renewal Reminder: You will receive an email reminder about the upcoming automated renewal on the 21st of every month.

  • Cancellation and Refunds: There are no refunds, but you may cancel your recurring membership at any time without penalty by filling out this cancellation form

  • Eligibility & Access: Individuals must be 18 or older to purchase an individual membership. A valid photo I.D. is required for facility admittance.

  • Locker Service: Locker Service is an additional $5/month and must be purchased in-person at the facility.

MU Student

  • Eligibility: Any currently enrolled Marquette student
  • Price: Included in student segregated fees (no additional cost) 
  • Facility Access:
    • Wellness + Helfaer Recreation (525 N. 16th St)
    • Rec Plex (915 W. Wisconsin Ave)
    • Norris Park (936 N. 19th Street)
  • Purchasing a Membership: Currently enrolled students are automatically assigned a membership and can scan into the facilities using their MUID. 
  • Towel Service: $5 (monthly recurring) or $2 (day towel)
  • Guests: Current Marquette students are permitted to bring in one (1) guest at a time. Please see the full Guest Policy.

Campus Affiliate

  • Eligibility: Current Marquette Faculty and Staff, Marquette retirees, and current MIAD (Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design) students.
  • Price: $15 (monthly recurring) or $5 (day pass)
  • Facility Access:
    • Wellness + Helfaer Recreation (525 N. 16th St)
    • Rec Plex (915 W. Wisconsin Ave)
  • Purchasing a Membership: 
    • Current MU Fac/Staff can purchase a membership in-person or online through the Member Portal. When signing into the portal, press the blue button to enter your MU credentials with the single-sign-on. 
    • Marquette retirees and current MIAD students need their eligibility verified prior to the purchase of a membership. Contact Casandra Sickinger to get verified!
  • MUID / Rec ID Card:
    • Current Marquette Fac/Staff can use their employee MUID to enter the facilities once a membership is purchased. 
    • Marquette retirees and current MIAD students require a Rec ID card. The first time you utilize a facility, stop by the Member Services desk to have your photo taken. One (1) Rec ID card is included with your membership. If a replacement is needed, a $10 replacement fee will apply. 
  • Towel Service: Towel service is included in a Campus Affiliate membership.
  • Guests: Campus Affiliate members are unable to bring in guests at this time. 

MU Alumni

  • Eligibility: Alumni of Marquette University (26 credit minimum)
  • Price: $30 (monthly recurring) or $10 (day pass)
  • Facility Access:
    • Wellness + Helfaer Recreation (525 N. 16th St)
    • Rec Plex (915 W. Wisconsin Ave)
  • Purchasing a Membership: Marquette Alum need their eligibility verified prior to the purchase of a membership. Contact Casandra Sickinger to get verified or present your Alumni card to our Member Services staff.
  • Rec ID Card: MU Alumni memberships require a Rec ID card to swipe into the facilities. The first time you utilize a facility, stop by the Member Services desk to have your photo taken. Community

  • Eligibility: 
  • Price: $50 (monthly recurring) or $15 (day pass)
  • Facility Access: Rec Plex (915 W. Wisconsin Ave)
  • Purchasing a Membership: Community memberships can be purchased in-person or online through the Member Portal.
  • Rec ID Card: Community memberships require a Rec ID card to swipe into the facility. The first time you utilize the Rec Plex, stop by the Member Services desk to have your photo taken. One (1) Rec ID card is included with your membership. If a replacement is needed, a $10 replacement fee will apply. 
  • Towel Service: Towel service is included in a Community membership. 
  • Guests: Community members are unable to bring in guests at this time. 

Household Family

  • Eligibility: A household family member of an active Campus Affiliate, MU Alumni, or Community member. Household family members are defined as the spouse or dependent children (up to the age of 26). Parents, grandparents, siblings, etc. do not qualify.
  • Price: $5/member (monthly recurring)
  • Facility Access: Rec Plex (915 W. Wisconsin Ave)
  • Purchasing a Membership: Household Family memberships may be purchased in-person only. 
  • Rec ID Card: Household Family memberships require a Rec ID card to swipe into the facility. The first time you utilize the Rec Plex, stop by the Member Services desk to have your photo taken. One (1) Rec ID card is included with your membership. If a replacement is needed, a $10 replacement fee will apply. 
  • Towel Service: Towel service is included in a Household Family membership. 
  • Guests: Household Family members are unable to bring in guests at this time.

What are the Terms and Conditions associated with monthly recurring memberships?

Terms and Conditions:  

1. Payment Authorization. By signing up for agreement billing, you authorize Marquette Campus Recreation to charge your credit/debit card at the rate applicable at the time of your initial agreement (unless changed as described below), plus any applicable local, state, or federal taxes. You may be responsible for other charges imposed by your credit card provider or financial service provider in connection with your membership. Payments will be processed by Fusion and Freedom Pay according to its terms and may be subject to other third-party terms that are apart from and outside Marquette University’s control.  

2. Monthly Recurring. By purchasing a Marquette Campus Recreation Membership, you agree that your membership will automatically renew on the 1st of each month. You further agree to have a valid credit or debit card stored in your membership account and authorize automatic payments on this schedule. (You can update this information through Payment Options on the Member Portal.) Your membership will continue to renew until you cancel in accordance with the cancellation terms below. You authorize Freedom Pay to continue to charge your payment method for the price of your subscription, plus any applicable taxes, unless and until you cancel (as outlined below).  

3. Pro-rated. Membership prices will be pro-rated at time of sale to reflect the cost of your first month's membership on the actual date-of-purchase. 

4. University Calendar. You understand that Marquette Campus Recreation is part of Marquette University, an academic institution. All pricing is based on the Marquette University Academic Calendar and hours are set accordingly. Membership refunds will not be provided for planned closures, adjusted hours, holidays, periods between semesters, academic breaks, weather-related closures, scheduled events that limit or restrict Member access, and closures for maintenance. 

5. Cancellation & Refunds. To avoid the automatic renewal of your membership, you must cancel your membership at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the 1st of the month. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the 1st of the month, your membership will continue as scheduled and your cancellation will take effect at the end of the next billing cycle. To cancel your membership, fill out the cancellation form. While you may cancel your Marquette Campus Recreation Membership at any time, you understand and agree that Marquette does not offer refunds or partial credits for membership cancellations made mid-month.  

6. Membership Price Changes. We reserve the right to make changes to your Marquette Campus Recreation Membership price, frequency, or date of charge. If the cost of your subscription increases, you will be provided with written notice prior to the billing period in which the change will become effective and you must opt into the price increase in order to continue to have access to your Marquette Campus Recreation Membership following the end of your current billing period. 

7. Rule & Termination. You agree to follow all rules of Marquette Campus Recreation and follow any instructions given by the Marquette Campus Recreation staff. Marquette Campus Recreation reserves the right to immediately terminate your membership and access to its facilities at any time if Marquette Campus Recreation determines in its sole discretion that you have breached this Agreement or any relevant law, rule, or regulation or you have engaged in conduct that Marquette Campus Recreation considers to be inappropriate, unsafe, or unacceptable. No refunds or credits will be given for memberships terminated under this provision. 

How is debit/credit card information stored and processed?

Campus Recreation utilizes Fusion as our recreation software. Payment methods are stored and processed via FreedomPay using a secure online token.  View the PCI Data Security Standard documentation.

How can the debit/credit card associated with a membership be updated? 

Part 1: Add your new card

  1. Sign into the Member Portal (www.campusrec.marquette.edu)
  2. Navigate to your profile by clicking on your name in the top right corner
  3. Find 'Payment Options' at the bottom of the left side menu
  4. Add your new card by clicking on the 'Add New Card' button
  5. NOTE: A $1.00 authorization amount will show as pending on your new credit card; this will not post to your account 

 

Part 2: Switch the card associated with your membership

  1. Find 'Memberships' in the left side menu of your profile
  2. Click on the 'Card Info' for your current membership
  3. Pick 'Change Card' in the drop down and select your newly added card from the options
  4. Make sure to save your changes

What happens if a monthly recurring membership payment is declined?

Your membership is canceled, and you do not have access to Campus Recreation facilities. 

You may renew your membership online through the Member Portal or in-person at our Member Services desk. Please make sure to use a current card and ensure that sufficient funds are available in your account. See above for instructions on how to update your card information.

Continuous declined payments may result in suspended access to Campus Recreation facilities. 

What is the Cancellation Policy, and how can a membership be canceled?

You may use this cancellation form to cancel your Membership. Once your request is processed, you will receive a Cancellation Confirmation email. 

To avoid the automatic renewal of your membership, you must cancel your membership at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the 1st of the month. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the 1st of the month, your membership will continue as scheduled, and your cancellation will take effect at the end of the next billing cycle. 

As a reminder, no refunds are given on the date of cancellation. Your membership will run through the month you choose to cancel. 

Is parking available at the facilities?

Street parking is available near Wellness + Helfaer Recreation. 

Campus Affiliate, MU Alumni, Community, and Household Family members will swipe gain access to the parking lot located behind the Rec Plex (Lot R) via their MUID or Rec ID card once a membership is purchased.
