Women and Family Health Research Collaborative
The Women and Family Health Research Collaborative is an interdisciplinary research community comprised of interdisciplinary scholars from nursing, public health, humanities, communication, counseling psychology and related fields who share a commitment to advancing the health and well-being of women and families. The research community focuses on topics such as maternal and infant health, family dynamics and social factors, chronic illness across the life course, reproductive health, and women’s agency and empowerment in the context of health.
Addressing individual and family well-being particularly among marginalized and underrepresented groups, our work often involves partnerships with community organizations and healthcare systems, ensuring that research is informed by and responsive to the needs of the populations we serve. Through innovative interventions, mixed-methods research, and translational projects, the collaborative seeks to create actionable solutions that improve health outcomes and foster social justice for women and families in the Milwaukee area and beyond.
